Rising from the Storm: A Paralegal’s Tale of Triumph with Caleb Payne at Her Side

Picture losing your home in an instant because of an unavoidable catastrophe. In those tense moments, you’d hope your insurance policy would come to the rescue, only to discover the company’s playing dirty tricks to cut costs, completely ignoring the complexity of your situation.

Then, what should a person do to protect themselves and their family?

That’s when disappointed homeowners can opt for a legal route by taking expert legal advice from Caleb Payne at Payne Law. At this firm, Caleb ensures his employees connect emotionally with the clients to offer them support and a personalized legal route to swift justice.

To offer a sigh of relief to the victims, Caleb provided a platform to a paralegal at his law firm, Coralys Rivera, to share her inspirational story with the world.

In 2017 Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico. Coralys and her two young boys witnessed their home flood causing damage to their belongings as well as watching their fence blow away. Everything, including their beds, mattresses, furniture, and other essentials was damaged by the rainwater. For months,  Coralys and her two boys had to move next door to her father’s home with limited supplies: “There was no possible way to leave and get basic necessities due to blockage from the storm ” she recalls.

While Coralys’s house was still intact due to cement, many wooden homes collapsed in her neighborhood. There was a power outage throughout the whole island for six months, and Coraly’s father had just one generator to power the refrigerator. However, Coralys couldn’t show signs of helplessness or vulnerability as she was the only strength of her boys during this traumatic time.

To pass the time after the hurricane, Coralys would find ways to entertain her children: they would build tents and do campfires to uplift their spirits and ensure that everything would be okay.

Often, her boys recall the event saying, “Do you remember making bonfires, telling ghost stories, and spending time outdoors with family and friends?” It was Coralys’ significant achievement as a mom, as she proudly shares, “My kids still bring up the hurricane, but not in a bad way.”

The desire to remain resilient for the sake of her family outshines her later life choices as well. Hence why, she moved to Florida to provide a better lifestyle for her children.

Today, Coralys is a paralegal at Payne Law. She is the right hand to the attorneys, helping them prepare for hearings, and assisting them in organizing legal paperwork and research. But above all, she is the strength of thousands of clients who are suffering from a similar experience in their life. She is the ray of hope to many, a living example of strength and resilience, and a super mom to her boys.

As a single mother, Balancing work-life is never easy, but Payne Law ensures that Coralys is always available for her children. She is able to work from home when her kids are sick and or leave early to accommodate them after school. The firm also provides her time off to be able to spend quality time with her children. As Coralys puts it in her words, “Payne Law gives us grace.”

With the help of expert attorneys at Payne Law, Coralys aims to assist insurers in distress and expedite their legal process so they can get their lives back on track.
