Here Is why Privacy Professional Silvia Doomra Believes That Privacy Should Not Be an Afterthought but a Mainstream Idea

Digital Privacy is the protection of an individual’s information that is used or created when using the internet on any electronic device. It means how much personal, financial, and browser information is stored online. Nowadays, almost everything is done online. People tend to shop online from the comfort of their homes and order food with the help of apps. Communicating with friends via the internet or even working from home has become a normal trend. All of this leads to a much larger digital footprint than ever before.

Every company is coming up with its own rules and regulations when it comes to handling the different streams of data being fed almost every single day. It is becoming increasingly difficult, as even in this day and age, private data is being leaked everywhere because companies do not have proper safety networks in place to protect consumer data. This is where Silvia Doomra steps in. As an advocate for the safety of the personal information of clients and employees, she has spent the last few years building data privacy systems, plans, and strategies. She has a detailed plan on how to create solutions and invent systems that would lead to solving the problem of Privacy on a large scale.

Silvia has been in the IT Industry for more than a decade, working with tech giants such as Microsoft, Meta, and Amazon. Starting as a software engineer before being promoted to technical program management, she has worked on a variety of products ranging from phones, databases, servers, and even data centers.

Silvia has already begun her work to change the narrative and perspective concerning digital privacy laws in mainstream media. She helped launch a Data Residency Program with Microsoft to meet data requirements across various countries, such as Europe, Singapore, China, India, and Brazil. She has also spearheaded multiple privacy commitments, from legal to architectural, while gaining extensive experience creating automated infrastructure, to build Privacy-aware products.

Even with the threat of private information being leaked and used for other unsavory purposes, Digital Privacy is still considered secondary for many companies and organizations. Silvia’s goal is to be a thought leader in Digital Privacy and shift it from being treated as an afterthought to a mainstream idea.
